World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft is the current MMORPG sensation, with millions of subscribers that continue to climb each and every expansion. As the player body en masses, "Flavor of the Week" and "the proper talent tree spec" start to arise, until it feels like your avatar is one of many thousands of duplicates and the originality and customization has been sucked dry from the gaming experience.
Which is why, after becoming tired of the same old routine and compared to the hundreds of other players just like you, that many World of Warcraft deviants are attracted to abnormal off-specs. Anomalies start to pop up like "elemental shaman healers," "enhance shaman tanks," "rogue evasion tanks," and "frost/fire/arcane mages."
The best of the unusual hybrids, however, is the smite priest. Combining Holy Fire, Holy Nova, and Smite into a holy-dpsing-machine, the smite priest is capable of filling a versatile healing role while still packing an awesome DPS punch. Johannah the Smite Priest on the Kalecgos server is one of many that embraces that abnormal spec and brings originality back to World of Warcraft.
Priest players are encouraged to give the "lolsmite" build a try, where a strong dispersion into both the Discipline and Holy tree can lead to the ultimate hybrid experience–heal during one phase of a raid boss and pew in another!–fill the spot in the guild that just awkwardly doesn’t work for the elemental shaman with Lesser Healing Wave or the ret paladin with the excruciatingly low mana pool.
Smite priests have not been looked at in great detail in Wrath of the Lich King, which is why the smite priest community at Johannah the Smite Priest’s site is a fantastic resource for the latest-and-greatest this holy DPS spec has to offer. Quintessentials to the spec include Power Infusion, Searing Light, and Surge of Light, but to get an in-depth look at the spec, you’ll have to search the recesses of the smite priest community for yourself.
Bring the fun back into World of Warcraft and roll with the smite priest.
