Lost Season 4
Well Lost Season 4 has finally been released on DVD in the usually box set form. I have watched the previous 3 series and I have to say season 4 is simply amazing. I won’t give too much away but the plot just gets more intense, you may have already heard about the dramatic flash-forwards that each character has in this season. A good spin on the old flash back trick which adds a great deal of depth and you finally get some answers but the flash forwards also ask a lot more questions than they answer.
Season 4 doesn’t feel anywhere near as drawn out as the last season, the action stays intense with more appearances from ‘the others’ and some new arrivals from the freighter ‘Kahana’ as well as the infamous Dharma Project. This season lasts 14 episodes which is considerably shorter than the first 2 seasons were but by condensing the length each episode has a blisteringly action packed pace which hasn’t been seen before in any of the other Lost seasons.
There are still a couple of things that hindered the previous Lost seasons apparent in this one. Matthew Fox who plays Jack still presents very wooden and forgettable episodes when the spotlight is on his character. Still, the writers have kept the show moving towards the final 2 years by beginning to fill in some of the blanks that everyone has been missing. The end is an epic cliff hanger to keep in line with Lost tradition and it’s guaranteed to pull the rug from under your feet. With such a bold ending who knows what season 5 of the show is going to bring.
