Ethical business degrees

Ethical business degrees are remaking the foundation of the business world. An economy shaken by Enron and other financial travesties turns to the good-and-evil underlying today’s professional industries and selecting business professionals with ethical business degrees above other, similar MBA candidates without an ethical specialization.

Business ethics has existed in the studies of business degrees for ages, but the ethical business degree phenomena breaks out of the one-or-two ethic classes mold and places philosophy and ethical studies at the heart of each and every business class in the curriculum. The ethical business degrees spurred from today’s modern business schools and universities build better businessmen for the entrepreneural future of America.

Of course, there are universities that have been on the business ethics boat all along, even before the economy became flooded by mistakes and foul play. Saint Leo University, a military-friendly school, has business degrees that reflect the function of ethical business degree programs through the university’s traditional "Core Values." The Core Values of Saint Leo University extends to both their campus and online programs and facilitate an ethically sound future from their graduates.

Worried that an ethical business degree will not be attractive to a future employer? All general business degrees receive an extra shine and sparkle from a "specialization," whether it is in accounting, online business, international marketing–or ethics. If an employer is an evaluating a candidate’s education and sees "ethics" as this person’s extra glimmer, it stands to reason that the particular employee has strong personal values that will lead to someone more punctual, socialable, and ultimately lucrative to the company. An ethical business degree has that extra edge among the rest.

So the next time you think about the evil business man that is swindling corporate America, or the wicked witches that belong in The Devil Wears Prada, consider the benefits an ethical business degree could contribute to today’s professional world.

Knowing Where To Shop Online

The rise of the internet has had a massive impact on many of our lives. It’s changed the way that we think about everything, from travel to shopping.

Many people think of online shopping as having numerous advantages. It’s certainly true that we can now compare prices much more easily than we once did, which should mean that we have access to more bargains. But are we making the most of the opportunities that are on offer?

One real problem for many of us is that we now find ourselves dealing with many companies that we have never heard of previously. That’s because more and more retailers are looking to sell products via the internet. They will have come from many different backgrounds. Some of them will previously have had traditional, offline stores. For others, their move into online retailing will have been the very first step for their business.

Given this situation, how do we know which retailers to trust when we come to do our online shopping? This can certainly be a tricky situation. We all want to know that the store will be there for some time, in case there are any problems with our purchases. Equally, we want to be assured that we’ll get a good quality of service.

Some consumers respond to this dilemma by sticking to shopping with reputable, well established names. Although this can be a good approach, it may limit your options in terms of finding the best deals.

A better option might be to use price comparisons and UK discount codes to try and identify the best bargains online. If you find that you don’t recognise the retailer that is offering the lowest prices then you can always use some independent online reviews to find out more about them.

By doing so, you can be assured that you’ll be getting better deals from retailers who you can find out a bit more about.

Trade Show 101:Shipping Terminology

A trade show display booth for your company may be one of the best investments you ever make, but if you are not familiar with the shipping processes at trade shows, the process of getting your display to the actual trade show can be quite a hassle. An explanation of a few common trade show shipping terms may take a lot of the headache out of the shipping process at your next trade show.

A bill of lading is the contract you sign with the freight company to make sure that your exhibit items arrive at a specific location at a specific time. This contract is important to hold on to since it will be invaluable in handling any shipping disputes that may occur later on. A common carrier is the title designated for the freight company that handles the shipping for the trade show. Usually the freight company will give you a certified weight ticket for the items that you are going to ship that identifies the weight category the items you are sending fit in.

Damage reports are an unfortunate but necessary part of the shipping process and it is important to fill out one of these reports immediately if something is found to have been damaged in shipping. Drayage, the service that transports items from the shipping dock to the actual exhibit booth, is also a term you will want to be familiar with. A working knowledge of some trade show shipping terms can make the whole process go much smoother.

It’s that time of year again as the kids head off to college and start the education process to prepare them for the real world.  But what many students aren’t prepared for is the toll their new found freedom can take on their diet and health.  No longer is mom there to cook your meals or to slap those cookies out of your hands before dinner.

But, before that “freshman fifteen” sneaks up on you, arm yourself with a few back to school weight loss tips to help keep the weight low and your health high.

  • Sign up for activities through work or through your school such as softball, kickball or whatever interests you.  This is a good way to burn some extra calories and meet new people in the process.
  • A great way to burn a lot of calories is to walk or ride your bike to class.  Make sure you map out the directions to all your classes ahead of time and it can be a good idea to do a dry run before the year starts to figure out how much time it will take.
  • Many schools offer Yoga and/or meditation classes that will also help you burn more calories.  These will also help relieve the stresses of school!
  • Stock your dorm fridge with fruits, vegetables, milk and other healthy snacks.  This will stop you from visiting the vending machine right down the hallway.

Don’t let your weight be an added stress to the start of your school year.  With a little preparation you can stay fit and active and enjoy your college days.

Benefits of Protein Shakes

Protein is a crucial part of everyone’s diet. Just as important as Carbohydrates and Fats. Protein however is classed as a macronutrient and is essential for good health and for building and repairing muscle tissues.

The molecules found in protein are formed from smaller pieces of amino acids. Single amino acids are a by product of the breakdown of protein chains. The chains of amino acids are called Polypeptides, if however the chains have less than 50 amino acids they are referred to as peptides, otherwise they are proteins.

Energy wise each gram of protein provides as much as 1 gram of carbohydrates, proteins are a lot more difficult to breakdown though so the body preffers carbohydrates as its source of energy.

A deficiency in protein will result in loss muscle, slow recovery and low energy levels and a weak immune system. When trying to gain muscle mass the required amount of protein increases dramatically, this is why protein supplements are widely used.

At the moment there are currently 4 different types of protein available:

  • Whey Protein
  • Whey Protein Isolate
  • Casein Protein
  • Multi Blend

Casein protein and multi blends are slow releasing products and these ensure that your body is getting a constant stream of protein and amino acids throughout the day.

Whey protein and Whey protein isolate are the faster digesting protein products. They are absorbed by the body much faster and while doing so aid the production of new muscle tissue by increasing protein synthesis.

For anyone taking part in frequent exercise or trying to gain lean mass then a supplement can help you reach your goals. Protein shakes are a great way to add additional protein to your diet and gain lean muscle mass.

Boost in the housing market

Recent figures show that there has been a rise in the number of homeowner secured loan by 23 percent.  There has also been a rise in the prices of houses by 2.6 percent.  It is forecast that there will be a price growth over the whole of the year.

The Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) said today that the number of home owner loans taken out for purchases rose by almost a quarter in June this year.  This is a further sign that the housing market is stabilising.

In addition, a report from surveyors indicated that the price of houses could post a rise over the year as the demand increases.  The local government department and government’s communities also said that the house prices increased by 2.6 percent in the second quarter.

According to the CML 45,000 mortgages were completed in June.  This was 23 percent more than in May and only 6 percent less than this time last year.

The value of house purchase loans rose by 26 percent over the month.  However falling prices and the fact that lenders insisted on buyers placing higher deposits, meant that, at 5.9 billion it was still 17 percent lower than 12 months ago. There was also a large increase in the number of first time buyers, who took out 17,200 mortgages, an increase of 26% from May.

However the number of new borrowers was still 7 percent down on last June.  Some of the fall is a result of the tighter lending restrictions and the withdrawal of thigh loan to value mortgages.

When it comes to throwing a birthday party and sorting out the decorations, you have probably already thought of balloons. But have you really thought about what sorts of balloons are available? Do a little research before settling on plain teardrop-shaped balloons because you will certainly find other types of balloons that may be more entertaining for your son’s birthday party.

Long balloons such as those that clowns use to make toys can be blown up and wrapped into a variety of shapes. Both long and traditional teardrop balloons come in every color of the rainbow, along with the more non-traditional metallic colors. This is only the beginning of balloon options. You can easily find balloons in the shape of comic book or cartoon characters; you can fill the Coyote with helium to chase his nemesis, the helium filled Road Runner around on the living room ceiling. Ah, the wonders of helium.

Fill some balloons with helium and some with air so that you have balloons on every surface and some hovering on the ceiling. As well as being a simple, effective decoration, balloons offer your guests a wealth of entertainment. Watch out for air drafts going through the house. When a helium-filled balloon gets outside it will quickly lift out of reach and you won’t see it again.

Balloons of all sorts and styles are inexpensive and easy to find. Your balloon decorations will be the hit of your son’s birthday party.

Better Marketing Through Brochures

You’ve brought in the customers but now they want to know more. You need an effective way to make sure that your company stays on their mind and they are able to share information about you with their friends and colleagues. How do you do this while maintaining a crisp, professional look for your trade show display? Well-chosen brochure holders can help.

There are several nice brochure holders on the market and choosing the right one depends on the size and amount of brochures you want to have on hand at events. If you have a small budget, a couple of small, nylon pocket brochure holders may do the trick. These brochure holders are easy to roll up and move to a new location but they are durable enough to hold a good supply of brochures.

Slightly more expensive foldable, metal brochure holders are an excellent idea if you think the holders may suffer from lots of wear and tear because of being in high traffic areas or due to frequent use. These displays are still lightweight since they are usually constructed of aluminum and give a nice professional feel to your display because of the brushed metal finishes.

Circular snap-up brochure holders are another option, especially if you are looking for additional storage space along with your brochure holder. Interchangeable pieces allow you to create a custom unit that caters to the needs of your particular display.

Brochure holders can be an excellent addition to your trade show display and help to increase your visibility at trade shows as well as keeping customers coming back.
